Dr. Refaat Abul Assaad
Dr. Refaat Abul Assaad, Founder of ABULASSAAD & ALABD, is one of the foremost experts in Egypt who are concerned with civil and commercial criminal law. After several years of legal and practical experience, Dr. Abul Assaad obtained a PhD in Public Law from Cairo University – School of Law in 2010.
Dr. Abul Assaad has more than 35 years of experience in relation to Egyptian and Arab law. He is a lawyer with deep experience, who has covered most aspects of Egyptian law, including: commercial, civil, administrative and criminal law, and in particular, he has the skill to represent clients before: Egyptian courts, administrative bodies, and government agencies. His proactivity in his approach and attention to detail has led Dr. Abul Assaad to obtain estimates from his clients and their counterparts as well. Dr. Abul Assaad normally represents multinational clients on cross-border matters as well as in relation to administrative procedures in Egypt.
In his beginnings, Dr. Abul Assaad was trained by two leading lawyers in the field of litigation. Dr. Abul Assaad received his PhD in Public Law from the School of Law – Cairo University – under the supervision of Professor of Public Law and former Deputy Prime Minister of Egypt Dr. Yahya El Gamal. Dr. Abul Assaad also holds a Bachelor of Law from Cairo University, a Diploma in Public Law from Cairo University, and a Diploma in Criminal Sciences from Cairo University.
Dr. Abul Assaad joined the Egyptian Bar Association in 1991, and is also a member of: Arab Lawyers Union, Egyptian Society of International Law, and the Egyptian Association for Political Economy, Statistics and Legislation. He is also a regional arbitrator registered in Ain Shams University Arbitration Center and in the arbitrators of the Arab Chamber of Arbitration – affiliated to the Arab Administrative Development Organization – and the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris and Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Saudi Arabia.
With regard to advising sovereigns, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia periodically engages Dr. Abul Assaad as legal advisor to the following bodies:

Dr. Abul Assaad is the only Egyptian lawyer so far who has trained the Judges of Appeal in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Counselor Reda Saeed Ibrahim Al Safety
Counselor Al Safety, Partner in ABULASSAAD & ALABD, received his education at Cairo University – and trained by one of the most senior lawyers in Cairo, Lawyer Hamdi Khalifa, former President of the Bar Association. He worked in the field of law as a free lawyer registered before the Court of Cassation, Supreme Constitutional Court, and Supreme Administrative Court. He established his own office in 1996 and specialized in civil and commercial cases, personal status, and the establishment of companies.
In short, Counselor Al Safety is a practicing lawyer before all courts. Professionally, Counselor Al Safety has practiced law since 1989 and focused on companies until he became a legal advisor to many Egyptian and Arab companies in the United Arab Emirates and a legal advisor to the Academy for Educational Development of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), before joining ABULASSAAD & ALABD in 2015. Overall, Counselor Al Safety has experience and high efficiency in settling commercial disputes before the courts, especially civil and commercial courts. Counselor Al Safety holds a Bachelor of Law from Cairo University in 1988 and was admitted to practice law in 1989.

Counselor Al Safety was an addition to ABULASSAAD & ALABD given his distinguished and broad experience, and he is currently working as head of the Commercial and Civil Cases Department in the Firm.
Mr. Abdul Razek Al DadiMr. Al Dadi, Egyptian – born in 24/06/1966 – Partner in ABULASSAAD & ALABD, received his education at Cairo University and graduated in 1988 and was trained by Mr. Rajai Attia, former President of the Bar Association until 1991. After that, he worked in the State of Kuwait at the Ministry of Labor. Mr. Al Dadi has extensive experience in working with governmental and non-governmental organizations. On the professional side, Mr. Al Dadi:
– Worked in the management of trade union organizations, labor federations, and unions of the State of Kuwait from 1991 to 1993.
– Acted as Legal Advisor to the Undersecretary of the Ministry and the Director General of the Public Authority of Manpower from 01/09/1993 to 01/07/2016.
– Acted as Legal Advisor to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) during the period from 01/01/1994 to 31/12/1996.
– Acted as Legal Advisor to Sitco General Trading & Contracting W.L.L during the period from 01/01/1997 to 01/02/2001.
– Acted as Legal advisor to Royal Jordanian Airlines (Alia) – Slovak Airlines – Ethiopian Airlines – Philippine Airlines – Gulf Express Logistics LLC – Al Sawan Company, Shipping Carrier Agent, from 25/04/2001 to 31/05/2016.
After this date, Mr. Al Dadi joined ABULASSAAD & ALABD. The great and broad experience of Mr. Al Dadi in dealing with institutions and individuals made him a distinguished element in ABULASSAAD & ALABD where he heads the Department of Labor Issues and Administrative Procedures.
Counselor Mustafa Sayed Abdul Aziz
Mr. Abdul Aziz, Partner in ABULASSAAD & ALABD, is one of the foremost experts in Egypt regarding banking operations and economic issues. Mr. Abdul Aziz has more than 40 years of experience in relation to the laws and operations of banks and finance. He has great experience extended through time. During his practice of legal work in Egyptian banks, he covered all legal aspects of the operations of various banks, including legal problems related to financial assets, retail and corporate banking services, debt restructuring, capital market law, debt collection, special settlements, commercial and real estate financing, companies, projects, and equipment financing and petroleum. At his beginning, he was trained by one of the legal scholars in Egypt and the Arab world, the late Professor Mohamed Abdul Aziz, former President of the Cairo Bar Association.
Mr. Abdul Aziz graduated from Cairo University in 1983 and worked as a commissioner in a bank in Oxford from 2000 until Banque Misr was merged in 2004. He climbed up the leadership positions within the bank: Director of the Legal Affairs Department – Director of the General Department of Upper Egypt Pleadings – Director General of Regional Pleadings, Investigations and Gulf Branches – Director General of Sequestration, Inheritance, Account Opening and Banking Reservations Unit.
With regard to legal advice on the laws and operations of banks, Mr. Abdul Aziz used to act as a legal advisor periodically and frequently to many major financial institutions in Egypt and the Arab world.
Counselor Mohamed Fouad Afifi
Mr. Fouad, Partner in ABULASSAAD & ALABD, received his education at Cairo University and was trained by the Scholar Magdy Khalifa. He worked in the legal profession as a free lawyer starting from 2006 and specialized in labor issues, personal status, companies’ formation, and related labor issues. He started working at ABULASSAAD & ALABD in 2010 and continued to exert effort until he became a partner in 2018. Currently, he is the Head of Companies and Investment Department.
